- 這組詞都有“以某種肯定口氣提出…”的意思,它們之間的區別是:
- 1.allege表示“聲稱,偽稱”,常有借口的意思。例如:
- He alleged illness for a reason for not going to work.他稱病,以此作為不去工作的理由。
- 2.affirm表示“肯定,斷言”,指堅信不疑因而斷言。例如:
- It may be safely affirmed that he is innocent.可以斷言,他是無罪的。
- 3.assert表示“主張,斷言”,指宣稱某事如此,并不說它是事實,著重主觀自信心。例如:

- 4.claim表示“宣稱”,語氣比assert弱些。例如:

- assert主觀意味強,指自認為某事就是如此,而不管事實如何。
- affirm側重在作出斷言時表現出的堅定與不可動搖的態度。
- allege多指無真憑實據,不提供證據的斷言或宣稱。
- maintain與assert近義,但前者指堅決維護某種主張或觀點。
- testify多指在法庭作證,莊嚴地宣稱自己所說屬實。
- claim可與assert換用,但語氣弱一些,側重指行使自己的權利提出要求令他人承認。
