deceive的基本意思是“欺騙”“欺詐”,通常指為達到邪惡的目的而有意地采取不正當手段,如弄虛作假、顛倒黑白、編造騙局、設置圈套等手段進行“欺騙”,使某人信以為真,也可指偶然一次地混淆。

- 3.cheat還可以作不及物動詞,指在考試、買賣、競賽中的欺騙行為,而deceive卻只能作及物動詞。
- 4.deceive用于被動語態的句子中或當deceive后面用反身代詞時,常常強調“弄錯了”的結果,不一定是有意識的欺騙; cheat則沒有此用法。
- 5.fool著重強調“愚弄”,往往指把對方當作弱者或愚者而“玩弄,哄騙”。
