anticipate的基本意思有二。一是“預先處理”,可指在規定的時間或適當的次序之前先行、先付、先用,常含有“不必要地、不適當地”等意味; 也指搶在某計劃或某行動執行之前采取措施阻止其實現; 還可指如先知者那樣先知先行。二是“預感”“期望”,即在事先預見或預知某事的存在或將發生。這種預感或期望一定是在事先曾遭受或體味到的,或者事后實現了的,除此之外的預感(如通過推理而預知者)不可使用本詞。
